After terminal week'southward series split confronting No. iii Minnesota, Ohio State followed the trend with another split against No. 1 Wisconsin.

The Buckeyes defeated the Badgers iii-two on Friday scoring all three of their goals in the showtime menstruum.

Saturday, the Badgers started and ended strong, putting upwardly 5 goals confronting the Buckeyes and letting in none for a final score of five-0 Wisconsin.

Game 1

Ohio State had a strong start period Fri that kept them afloat in its win over Wisconsin.

This was Wisconsin'south first flavor game compared to the Buckeyes 3rd game.

Ohio State head omnibus Nadine Muzerall said she was impressed with her defense in the opening menstruation.

"I recall our forecheck is relentless. We executed that brilliantly tonight, incorporating our defense. Wisconsin replied chop-chop with a score simply 23 seconds later on the Buckeyes' 2d goal, cutting the Ohio State lead in half.

With but 39 seconds remaining in the first period, Ohio State scored again, increasing their lead to 3-one.

At the start of the second flow, the Badgers took control of the puck immediately and scored off a pass-through breakaway, 14 seconds in.

"Now we know what we wait similar, things that nosotros have to piece of work on. Nosotros'll come back tomorrow and endeavor to play a better game than we did today," Wisconsin head motorcoach Mark Johnson said.

Game ii

Wisconsin capitalized on a quick start in order to split the series.

Despite the early on onslaught from the Badgers, the Buckeye defense force buckled down against a five-minute  Badger powerplay.

The defence force connected to lock down in the second period, not allowing a Annoy goal. However, the offense struggled to detect production, keeping the Buckeyes down by two goals heading into the game'south final catamenia.

In the 3rd period, the Badgers got back to their offensive ways adding a goal three minutes into the period, increasing the score to three-0.

With four minutes remaining in the game Ohio State made a determination to increase offensive pressure by pulling its goalie. This ended poorly for the Buckeyes equally the Badgers stole the puck and scored on an empty cyberspace, making the score 4-0.

The Badgers scored their terminal goal with 41 seconds left in the third menses ending the game with a final score of v-0.

Similar to the Buckeyes other loss against Minnesota, offensive production seemed to be the trouble Saturday.

"What hurt us today was not beingness able to score" Muzerall said, "Our team is generating a lot of offense, playing very well defensively nosotros just gotta observe a way to put the puck in the back of the net."
